KOTA BHARU, Feb 6 (Sin Chew Daily) — Kelantan health department director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin confirmed that the first Malaysian coronavirus case had not been to Kelantan.
Replying to a question from Sin Chew Daily in a short message, Dr Zaini said the patient's wife was from Kuala Krai in Kelantan but a long-time neighbor revealed that her family had moved out of Kuala Krai more than ten years ago and her family house was no more in the state.
The Kelantan health department has nevertheless confirmed that the infected man has never been to the state.
The man presented the symptoms of fever and cough after returning from a business trip in Singapore on January 23. He later visited a private clinic in Selangor and was subsequently referred to Sungai Buloh Hospital on February 2, where he was diagnosed with 2019 novel coronavirus the following day.
According to people close to him, he was at his family house in Sungai Petani, Kedah, on January 26, or the second day of Chinese New Year.
