PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan is expected to nominate Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s Gurun assemblyman Datuk Johari Abdul as the next Dewan Rakyat Speaker, while its candidate for Deputy Speaker is DAP’s member of parliament for Lanang Alice Lau.

A source told Sin Chew Daily PH had earlier recommended a few names but eventually decided on Johari Abdul as its best candidate for the position.

Johari, meanwhile, has confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that he was indeed PH’s choice for Dewan Rakyat Speaker.

According to the source, Barisan Nasional has also nominated Umno’s Cameron Highlands MP Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor as Deputy Speaker.
