JOHOR BAHRU: Sin Chew Daily has learned that it is almost certain that Machap state assemblyman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi will be Johor’s next menteri besar.

It has been said earlier that some 38 elected Barisan Nasional assemblymen have signed a statutory declaration to support the incumbent menteri besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad, but from what we understand, that was signed before the state election.

It is learned that Hafiz will have an audience with Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Ismail at 3.00 p.m. this afternoon.

According to a source, the Sultan is expected to ask Hafiz whether he has enough support to be menteri besar.

It is learned that only Hafiz has been summoned to the palace. No other state assemblymen have received any notice.
