Increase of RON95 price to match market price not final decision: minister

  • Domestic trade and consumers affairs minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the government had yet to decide on increasing the RON95 price gradually to eventually match the market price.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Sin Chew Daily) -- Domestic trade and consumers affairs minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the government had yet to decide on increasing the RON95 price gradually to eventually match the market price.

His deputy Chong Chieng Jen said yesterday the government would increase the price of RON95 by one or two sen every week to eventually match the market price, beginning next January.

Saifuddin said it was not the final decision, adding that the deputy minister's reply at the Parliament was only one of the solutions being discussed by the government.

He also said he would announce the final solution before the end of the year.
