Former MCA president Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik turns 82

PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong celebrates the birthday of his predecessor Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, who turns 82, by visiting him on Thursday.

Accompanied by Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) president Prof Datuk Dr Lee Sze Wei and TAR UMT council chairman Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, Dr Wee presented a cake to celebrate Dr Ling’s birthday.

Dr Wee posted on Facebook that Dr Ling made significant contribution to the nation, dedicating his life to the people and the country.

TAR UMT went through smooth development and Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR) was set up when Dr Ling was the MCA president.

A medical doctor by training, Dr Ling is the MCA president for 17 years from 1986 to 2003.
