
KUALA LUMPUR: Missing British teenager David Balisong has been found in a budget hotel in Pudu last night.
Social activist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang told Sin Chew Daily that he found the 17-year-old teenager who was in the hotel since 14 July.
Balisong is safe and his mother was in tears when she found the teenager.
However, it is not known how does the teenager financially support himself.
Kuan said he received a tip-off and rushed to the hotel with David’s mother at about 8.30 pm and found him.
David, who took a flight from Manchester in United Kingdom to Malaysia on June 7, was granted a 90-day visa in Malaysia.
The 17-year-old teenager was immediately taken to a police station to record his statement.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed Balisong’s discovery.
Balisong sent an email to his mother on July 9, asking her not to search for him.
The teenager was last seen at KL Sentral on June 7 with only a backpack.
His family reported him missing after he failed to respond to repeated calls, emails and voice messages.
Balisong’s mother, Minerva, has been in Malaysia since July to search for him.
