PETALING JAYA: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) receives RM1,896,000 in nomination fees from 251 candidates contesting in the party elections.
This does not include nomination fees paid for elections held at 220 divisions where a candidate vying to contest for the division chairman is required to pay RM600 in nomination fee.
Nomination fees for the entire party election are estimated to exceed RM2.2 million.
The election guidelines 2025 listed in the PKR website states that candidates are to pay nomination fees ranging from RM30 to RM50,000, to contest in each party position right from division to central position.
The nomination fee to contest for a committee member in the Youth or Women’s wings at division level is RM30, while the fee for presidency is the highest at RM50,000.
Nomination fee to contest for deputy president is RM35,000, vice president RM25,000, and central leadership council RM10,000.
From division to central positions, the nomination fee is more for higher positions. The fees are non-refundable.
For this coming election, candidates vying for a position in the central leadership council contribute the largest portion in fees as 89 candidates are vying for 20 positions.
Each candidate pays RM10,000 to contest where PKR rakes in RM890,000 in nomination fees.
For vice presidency, 12 candidates are vying for four positions and the 12 candidates contribute a total of RM300,000 as each candidate pays RM25,000 in nomination fees.
The third highest fees come from committee members in the Youth wing where 71 candidates pay a total of RM213,000 in nomination fees, each paying RM3,000.
