PETALING JAYA: At least three Chinese leaders have announced that they are contesting for the vice presidency in Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) elections, after Hee Loy Sian announced his decision to join the fray.

Hee, the Selangor PKR vice chairman and a Central Leadership Council member, made the announcement on his Facebook, urging party members to support him.

Two other Chinese leaders who are contesting for vice presidency in PKR are Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Chang Lih Kang, who is an incumbent, and Sim Tze Tzin, the political secretary of PKR president’s office and Bayan Baru member of parliament.

The incumbents are Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shaari, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, and Chang.

“With a sense of responsibility and humility, I offer myself as a candidate for Vice President of the PKR Election 2025.

“Having extensive experience in the political world since 1999, I believe that leadership based on the principles of justice and inclusivity is crucial in strengthening the party’s struggle,” he wrote on Facebook.
