Malaysians allowed to use e-Gate for swift clearance in Taiwan airports now

(Taipei 7 Nov) Malaysians are allowed to use e-Gate or the immigration clearance system at the airports in Taiwan with immediate effect.

The Minister of Interior of Taiwan, Liu Shyu-fang said the decision was made after Taiwanese allowed to have access to the autogate system for immigration clearance at the airports by Malaysia on 1 June.

A statement released at the website of the Ministry of Interior stated that Liu made the announcement at the N.I.A. Benchmark Executive Program for immigration officers from overseas on 7 Nov.
Malaysia is the seventh country after United States, South Korea, Australia, Italy, Germany and Singapore to have access to the e-Gate for immigration clearance.

Malaysian travellers with passports valid for at least six months and do not have criminal records in Taiwan are allowed to use the e-Gate without registration.
