KUALA TERENGGANU: Women are offered a choice to decide their seats to watch football matches at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium.

The Kuala Terengganu stadium has started segregating seats by introducing designated seating zone for women.

The women-only section also opens for family members.

Instead of segregating seats based on gender, women are given the choice to decide on their own.

They can either sit at the family section or women designated section at the stadium.

Stadium staff were seen directing men to stay away from women-only section when the new measure started with Super League match between Terengganu FC and Negeri Sembilan FC on Tuesday.

Nabilah, who was present to watch the match, said she welcomed the stadium management’s new measure of introducing women-only seats.

“I feel safe and comfortable,” she said.

Prior to this, she was unable to sit with peace of mind for fear she would have physical contact with other male audience.

“I am a regular here. I have hoped for a women-designated section, and now the Terengganu state government has fulfilled my wish,” she said.
