CAMERON HIGHLANDS: Cameron Highlands was packed with tourists over the long weekend, with all hotel rooms sold out.

Some tourists ended up having to sleep inside their cars at a petrol station in Brinchang.

A short video clip circulating in TikTok shows cars parked at Petronas station in Brinchang at 1 a.m., as tourists opted to spend the night inside their cars at the petrol station.

The visual also stated that the traffic jam would be expected the following day as cars were leaving Cameron Highlands.

Roads leading to Cameron Highlands are typically packed with vehicles during long weekends and public holidays.

Some netizens also said that websites showed hotels were fully booked over the long weekend.

Tanah Rata state assemblyman Ho Chi Yang confirmed that hotel rooms were hard to get and the roads were choked with cars during the long weekend.

“Rooms run out fast during weekends and public holidays,’’ he said.
