IPOH: The service centres of state assemblymen and members of parliament are ready to assist members of the public, especially senior citizens, to register for Central Database Hub (PADU).

Some have set up mobile counters to assist members of the public besides their service centres.

Tan Kar Hing, Member of Parliament for Gopeng, said his four service centres are ready to help senior citizens register for PADU.

He has drafted a timetable for the mobile teams to help the people in rural areas.

Tan said a staff member at the service centre can only help three to five people in one hour.

Bercham state assemblyman Ong Boon Piow said members of the public started to visit his service centre for help on PADU since Wednesday.

Staff at the service centre focused on assisting senior citizens, he said, adding that a short video clip in Chinese would be produced to teach members of the public how to register for PADU.

Ong, too, has organised mobile teams to assist members of the public with the registration.

PADU was launched earlier this week by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to ensure that the distribution of aid and subsidies is efficient and reaches the target groups.

Registration for PADU is open to the public from now until March 31. Users can update and confirm 39 personal details, including identification, number of household members, and their addresses.
