MELAKA: The late Wong Sian Chien’s family returns RM269,502.28, balance of the donation raised by Persatuan Meninggikan Akhlak Zi Xian Ge to fund his medical treatment.

Wong, 35-year-old RELA member suffering from Takayasu arthritis, successfully underwent an operation at Singapore General Hospital in February with the RM629,037.33 raised among the organisation’s members in Malaysia.

Unfortunately, he subsequently passed away, leaving behind a seven-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.

Kota Laksamana state assemblyman Low Chee Leong witnessed the handover of money by Wong’s family to Datuk Leow Tua Choon, chairman of Persatuan Meninggikan Akhlak Zi Xian Ge.

Leow said Wong’s family decided to channel the balance of the donation back to the organisation for charity.

Wong’s father thanked the organisation for raising fund to pay for his operation.
