PETALING JAYA: It is learned that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will likely add one or two ministries and ministerial positions in a cabinet reshuffle widely expected at the end of the month.
According to a source, Anwar will only announce the new cabinet line-up after the Parti Amanah Negara election to be held on December 23 and 24.
The party election is mainly to fill the vacancy left by the late Minister of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.
It is generally believed that winner in the party election will likely be appointed the ministerial post vacated by Salahuddin.
It is learned that Amanah President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu’s favourite candidate for minister is incumbent vice president Adly Zahari, who is deputy defence minister and former Melaka chief minister.
