IPOH: Due to the limited stock, senior citizens above the age of 60 who do not use a smartphone can apply for physical road tax stickers, says Perak Road Transport Department director Mohammad Yusoff Abustan.

The physical road tax stickers are allocated to all states by the transport ministry, he said.

He told Sin Chew Daily that physical road tax stickers and driving licences are only available at the Road Transport Department while those who renew their road tax or licences at post offices would only get digital copies.

After the Deepavali break, the number of visitors at the Perak Road Transport Department and Perak UTC increased tremendously, and one had to wait for up to two hours just to renew road tax or driving licence.

Many were believed to be back in their hometowns due to the extended weekend and took the opportunity to visit government departments.

The Road Transport Department office at Perak UTC had to stop distributing numbers due to the massive crowd.

Members of the public were informed that the numbers would only be distributed again in the afternoon.
