KUALA KANGSAR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s Member of Parliament for Kuala Kangsar Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid has declared support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in order to receive government allocations to ease the burden faced by his constituents over the rising cost of living.
He said the decision to support Anwar would take effect from today.
Anwar has said allocations would be provided to MPs who support the Unity Government’s policy.
“I believe the economy must be improved for the country to prosper and for the well-being of the people. Therefore, I will support the prime minister’s efforts to strengthen the country’s economy.”
Although Iskandar may face disciplinary action from his party, he insisted that he would remain loyal to Bersatu and would not betray the party.
He also said it was not right for his constituency to be neglected just because of political differences.
