Statuettes made of sugar are traditionally sold for celebrations of the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday in Cairo, Egypt.

Known as “Al-Mawlid al-Nabawi,” Muslims across the world will celebrate the prophet’s birthday on the 12th day of the third month of the Islamic calendar, which in 2023 falls on September 27.
