PETALING JAYA: The Higher Education Ministry emphasised that the “Guidelines for Entertainment Activities (Concerts) in Higher Education Institutions” going viral on social media earlier was only at the stage of proposal at this moment.
In a statement today, the ministry said minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin had said the “Guidelines for Entertainment Activities (Concerts) in Higher Education Institutions” would be drafted and prepared by respective higher education institutions (HEI) with the participation of students’ representative councils (MPP) or student unions (KM).
“In connection with this, the Higher Education Department is instructing the HEI management to ensure that student representative councils or student unions are involved in formulating the guidelines, so that it takes into account the voice and needs of the students as well as the suitability in each HEI and locality before it is officially adopted at the respective HEI level,” said the statement.
