JOHOR BAHRU: Umno Supreme Council member and Pulai divisional chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said if DAP were to win the trust of the Malays, they would have to drop their “Malaysian Malaysia” and secular state slogans.
He said these two slogans were the reasons many Malays were still unable to accept DAP’s political struggle.
He wrote in Facebook that from his observation, the Malays had been unable to accept DAP because of the party’s “Malaysian Malaysia” and secular state agendas, thinking that DAP was a party for the Chinese only.
Nur Jazlan said these voters felt that the secular state agenda had contradicted Islamic teachings, adding that DAP would have to make the drastic change in order to win the support of Malay voters through a cooperation with Umno.
