PETALING JAYA: Gerakan Rakyat president Datuk Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai denied that he was told to leave when he appeared at Perikatan Nasional’s ceramah in Sungai Dua, Seberang Perai Utara, last night.

He said he showed up at the event just to meet Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

However, the Perikatan Nasional candidate for Bayan Lepas told Pocketimes in a live talk this afternoon that he had not been able to meet the PAS president due to a clash in time arrangement.

“That was a PAS ceramah. I went there not to listen to the ceramah but to have a private discussion with Hadi Awang over certain things on the constituency.

“I didn’t manage to meet him there, but have our issues settled over the phone subsequently,” he explained.

He revealed that the discussion was about PN’s election manifesto, adding that both parties needed to clarify on certain things in the manifesto.

When asked whether he was told to leave the ceramah last night, Lau said, “No, we were not told to leave.”
