ISKANDAR PUTERI: The 99 Speedmart Sdn. Bhd. team of 16 graduates caught the attention of all present at the graduation ceremony of Southern University College on Saturday.

The company’s founder Lee Thiam Wah, his wife Ng Lee Teing and top management team of the convenience chain stores were graduates of the executive MBA program under Southern University College’s school of professional & continuing education.

They started the online program two years ago during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I encouraged my wife and our management team to sign up for the program, as it would help upgrade our knowledge in corporate management,” he said.

Lee made the decision to study as no other activities were possible during the pandemic.

He had always thought of signing up for a business course.

The team attended the online class on Saturday, either at home or in office.

Lee’s motto in life is to participate in lifelong learning or one can never progress.

He also said the rapid development in technology has created many new things and is full of fun.

And he is keen to learn new knowledge.

Meanwhile, his wife Ng said attending the class together brought the team closer.

“This has helped strengthen the team,” she said.
