KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu state legislative assembly is expected to be dissolved on Wednesday.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar had an audience with Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin this morning to seek His Royal Highness’ consent to dissolve the state assembly to pave way for the state election.

Ahmad Samsuri told the media outside the palace after having an audience with the Sultan that he had proposed to dissolve the state assembly on June 28, awaiting His Royal Highness’ consent.

He also said he would issue an official statement later today.

The 14th Terengganu state legislative assembly will expire on June 30.

In the last state election, PAS won 22 seats while Barisan Nasional won ten.
