Internal push to oust Penang CM Chow

PENANG: Several Penang DAP state assemblymen have planned to oust chief minister Chow Kon Yeow and bring back DAP national president Lim Guan Eng to head the state administration.

When asked to comment on this, Chow said he had not read the report and had nothing to comment.

“I have not read the report, and it’s unfair to get me to comment. But I will when the time comes.”

Malaysiakini reported quoting a source that Lim Guan Eng’s supporters, including three incumbent DAP assemblymen, felt he should be the next chief minister after the state election.

They felt that Chow is not fit to be chief minister as he is too soft and indecisive.

When asked whether he felt any dissatisfaction among DAP assemblymen, Chow, who is also state DAP chairman, said, “I don’t know. No one has expressed his dissatisfaction to me.”

Meanwhile, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook refuted the rumor, saying he had no idea who had spread it.
