PETALING JAYA: All Women’s Action Society (AWAM) stresses that any form of violence must not be tolerated, and domestic violence should not be an excuse for family dispute.

The society urges the relevant authorities to take the necessary actions against View Chin for his alleged involvement in domestic violence, and protect the victim.

The society’s information and communication officer Amanda Shweeta Louis told Sin Chew Daily that domestic violence has been a long-standing problem in the Malaysian society affecting everyone of us, including men and women.

Quoting former women, family and community development minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun, Amanda said the number of domestic violence cases increased by 42% in 2021 to 7,468.
