MELAKA: The ten new executive councilors of Melaka were sworn in this morning.

Chief minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh will head the economic planning, finance, land affairs, government agencies, investment, industry and TVET development committee, while Paya Rumput state assemblyman Datuk Rais Yasin has been appointed senior exco member in charge of housing, local government, drainage, climate change and disaster management.

The new state cabinet line-up makes up of seven Umno, one MCA, one MIC, and one DAP assemblymen, including three new faces, namely Fairul Nizam Roslan (Asahan-Umno), Datuk Hameed Mytheen Kunju Basheer (Ayer Limau-Umno) and Allex Seah Shoo Chin (Kesidang-DAP).

Allex Seah is the only Pakatan Harapan state assemblyman who has been appointed as the state exco member in charge of entrepreneur development, cooperatives and consumer affairs.

4. Science, technology, innovation and digital communications: Fairul Nizam Roslan (Asahan-Umno)
5. Women, family and community development: Datuk Kalsom Noordin (Pengkalan Batu-Umno)
6. Youth, sports and NGOs: Shanmugam Ptcyhay (Gadek-MIC)
7. Health, human resources and unity: Ngwe Hee Sem (Machap Jaya-MCA)
8. Public works, infrastructure, public facilities and transport: Datuk Hameed Mytheen Kunju Basheer (Ayer Limau-Umno)
9. Education, higher education and religious affairs: Datuk Rahmad Mariman (Ayer Molek-Umno)
10. Entrepreneur development, cooperatives and consumer affairs: Allex Seah Shoo Chin (Kesidang-DAP)
