A native of Triang, Leong said she is proud of Sang Riang Senior Citizen’s Home.
She witnessed the home, starting from a simple house to providing shelter and meals for a total of 418 destitute senior citizens.
“The home’s management is unique. It accommodates senior citizens of various ethnic and religious groups who live here in harmony,” she said.
Founder of the home, Yap Yoke Moey expressed her gratitude to the Tourism Ministry for the recognition.
“I am grateful to have received tremendous support from various government agencies over the years. We are growing bigger and bigger in housing the poor senior citizens,” she said.
The local health clinic and Temerloh Hospital regularly send their medical staff to check on the senior citizens.
