ChatGPT is a large-scale language model developed by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research laboratory consisting of the for-profit corporation OpenAI LP and its parent company, the non-profit OpenAI Inc.
It is a deep learning model that uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to generate human-like responses to text-based queries.
Since June 2018, OpenAI has released several larger and more advanced versions of ChatGPT, including GPT-2 and GPT-3, which are among the most powerful language models in existence.
GPT-3, released in June 2020, has 175 billion parameters, making it the largest language model to date.
I am a strong subscriber of ChatGPT. It provides quick and convenient access to information on a wide range of topics, improves writing and communication skills by providing suggestions and corrections, and serves as a tool for educational purposes, i.e. answering simple questions or explaining complex topics.
It provides much personalized recommendations and insights based on a user’s interests and preferences, and certainly improves critical thinking skills by asking thoughtful and insightful questions.
It is available 24/7 everywhere and anywhere, enabling a user to seek information or assistance at any time.
I strongly feel that every netizen must jump onto this new tool and use it to the maximum.

Naturally, everything has its advantages and disadvantages, and Chat GPT is no different.
Critics say that the training data has raised concerns about the potential to perpetuate or amplify existing biases in society.
However, there is a tendency for misinformation or fake news, as it can generate human-like responses to text-based queries.
Intellectual property: It faces criticism for its decision to keep some of the larger versions of the model proprietary, meaning they are not freely available to the public. Hence there is worry of the possibility of monopolistic practices in the field of AI research.
Environmental impact: The training of large language models like ChatGPT requires significant amounts of computing power and energy, causing frowns on the environmental impact of AI research.
Job displacement: The development of advanced AI models like ChatGPT poses the threat of potential job displacement, particularly in fields that rely on language-based tasks like writing, editing and translation.
Any new innovation will have its downsides. It is the responsibility of the user to be properly informed, and to use ChatGPT to his or her advantage.
It has immense benefit to the society, corporate sector and the educational field with the correct understanding, use and application.
Let’s take a chance and ride on it without much doubt or hesitation.
