KUALA LUMPUR: Education minister Fadhlina Sidek reiterated that her ministry had no plan to recognize the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).

She said in a written reply to a question by PAS’ Member of Parliament for Jerai Sabri Azit that the education ministry’s position on this matter was consistent with the Education Act 1996 and National Education Policy.

Prior to this, Fadhlina had said the government had no obligation to provide allocation to independent Chinese secondary schools, as these schools are not within the national education system.
