KLANG: The Shah Alam Hokkien Association officially launches its website www.hokkiensa.org during its Chinese New Year open house Saturday night.

Members are able to browse the history of the association, activities as well as updates on the website.

Launched by its president Datuk Dr. Lim Sin Boon, the website will link members residing at various parts of the world.

Lim said the website will allow members to keep abreast of the latest updates of the association.

By utilizing information and state-of-the-art technology, the association will be able to catch up with changes of the time, he said.

“The website will drive the association to scale new heights as we continue to update the information on the website. By enhancing the contents, the website will be able to attract more visitors,” he said.

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, Lim personally handed out angpaos to residents at old folks homes and orphanages invited to the open house.

The Selangor welfare department, Kiwanis Job Training Center and Sunbeams Home were also invited to the open house.

Lim said the association had planned to set up a nursing home by the end of the year.

The association is currently looking for a suitable site either in Klang or Kuala Lumpur to set up the home.

The nursing home project’s objective is to fulfil the association’s corporate social responsibilities to extend a helping hand to the needy, he said.
