180 LED wreaths for Klang businessman’s late mother

KLANG: A businessman in Klang has received 180 LED wreaths over the passing of his 92-year-old mother.

The LED wreaths, also known as digital wreaths, were placed at the vacant land next to Restaurant Emperor King and along Jalan Langat.

The large number of LED wreaths caught the local residents’ attention.

Some even posted a question on social media whether LED wreaths were sold at the area.

Sin Chew Daily found out that it was actually Datuk See Sai Hong’s mother Ong Kui Eng who passed away last Thursday.

These LED wreaths were sent by local Chinese organizations, business associates, relatives and friends to pay tribute to See’s mother.

See said he had many friends who had decided to send the same thing: LED wreaths.

Hence, he received about 180 LED wreaths in three days.

Even shops selling LED wreaths said the wake was believed to have received the most number of digital wreaths.

The practice of sending LED wreaths to replace traditional wreaths made up of fresh flowers started in Taiwan.

See said sending LED wreaths started to gain popularity here in Malaysia during the past three years.

LED wreaths can be used repeatedly and can be returned to the operators once the funeral is over.
