KOTA KINABALU: The four Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) members of parliament who have quit Parti Pribumi Bersatu do not need to vacate their seats.
Member of parliament for Papar Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, who is also minister in the prime minister’s department (Sabah and Sarawak affairs), told The Star that four of them had received an e-mail from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul addressed to Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee that was copied to them.
“I cannot release the content of the e-mail, but all I can say is that there is no need for us to vacate our seats.”
The other three MPs are deputy tourism, arts and culture minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan (Batu Sapi), Datuk Jonathan Yassin (Ranau) and Datuk Matbali Musah (Sipitang).
