KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan confirmed that leaders of unity government parties will not be invited to this year’s Umno general assembly.

He said only representatives from Barisan Nasional component parties and the six Friends of BN parties will be invited.

“We will not invite outsiders. No representatives from the unity government, only BN component parties MCA, MIC and PBRS, as well as six Friends of BN parties.

“We want to first settle our internal problems.”

Meanwhile, Ahmad Maslan, who is also deputy finance minister, said the unity government has no plan yet to reintroduce GST (goods and services tax).

He said there had not been any discussion or decision on this matter so far.

“We have not discussed this. No decision yet.”
