98% Chinese support for DAP in some areas: Loke

KUALA LUMPUR: Transport minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said preliminary studies showed that DAP received the support of as many as 98% of Chinese voters in some constituencies in the last election.

He said support from the local Chinese community was of utmost importance to the party which would continue to strive to win the support of the general population in order to go further from here.

Loke said during a dinner gathering with the Malaysian Chinese community, “We understand the support and expectations from the local Chinese community. In some constituencies we have stronger support from the Chinese voters than in 2018.

“95% of Chinese voters supported us last time, but the support rate is as high as 98% in some constituencies this time.”

In addition to the Chinese, Loke said the unity government must also win the support of all Malaysians and make the young Malays feel that this government is worth their support because its ministers work hard and know how to manage this country.
