IPOH: Barisan Nasional and Umno Perak chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad revealed that Perikatan Nasional had attempted to persuade at least four BN state assemblymen to support PN in forming the new state government.
Saarani said he felt betrayed and backstabbed by PN’s move.
He said after he met PN Perak chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and secretary Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin, they did not respond to his question what role BN would play in the new state government. Instead, he was told the matter would be referred to PN’s political bureau meeting.
Saarani also said after he attended his own political bureau meeting, he was told by DAP Perak chairman Nga Kor Ming that Pakatan Harapan had agreed to offer menteri besar, state legislative assembly speaker and three state executive council posts to BN as a condition to form the joint state government between PH and BN.
