MARANG: Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang claims that there are more leaders whose names are dropped from Barisan Nasional’s list of candidates intend to run in the 15th general election under the PN banner.
Hadi, who is also PAS president, said the applications of these BN leaders are still being processed and their names will be announced probably tomorrow (nomination day).
“I can’t tell you how many seats now. They are in the north, central and south,” he said in press conference last night.
He also said although the incumbent Arau member of parliament Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim is an Umno leader, he dares to criticize Umno and is willing to fight alongside PAS under the PN banner in the upcoming election to defend his seat.
Besides Shahidan, incumbent Maran MP Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib will also contest on PAS ticket to defend the seat.
Both Shahidan and Ismail Abd Muttalib are among cabinet members dropped from the list of candidates announced by BN on Tuesday.
