PETALING JAYA: Prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has started preparing for the dissolution of parliament.

Sin Chew Daily has learned that he will have an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah this coming Thursday – a day before the tabling of the 2023 Budget – to seek His Majesty’s advice.

Prior to this, there have been rumors the prime minister will announce dissolution of parliament one or two days after the tabling of next year’s Budget.

Although the prime minister has kept mum over this, a source has told Sin Chew Daily he has made the arrangement to see the King this Thursday.

Earlier, Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who was sacked by Umno last week, claimed that Ismail Sabri would have an audience with the King today to seek his advice on dissolution of parliament, but this has since been refuted by Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
