PETALING JAYA: Customers of several local banks experienced disruption in third-party transfers this morning due to system breakdown, including RHB, Maybank, Public Bank, CIMB and UOB.
However, Hong Leong Bank’s customer service personnel said their customers had no problem transferring their funds to another HLB account, but had problem sending money to accounts in the above-mentioned banks.
Sin Chew Daily reporter tried to conduct a DuitNow transfer through RHB this morning but to no avail.
Even though the transaction was rejected, the money was already debited from the account.
The reporter subsequently clarified with the bank and was told several other banks also experienced service disruption this morning.
The reporter also called up Maybank and Public Bank and was informed that these banks also experienced a similar issue this morning.
Service had yet to be restored as of noon today.
