PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, a life member of MCA, will be summoned by the party’s disciplinary committee to explain why he campaigned for Parti Pejuang Tanah Air during the recent state election in Johor.
However, when Sin Chew Daily contacted him on this matter, he said he had yet to receive any letter or notification from the party.
From what we know, after receiving complaints from members, the MCA presidential council has discussed the matter in the latest central committee meeting.
It is learned that the party’s disciplinary committee will summon Lee for an explanation.
Lee told Sin Chew Daily he would attend the hearing if required to do so.
“I don’t know about this. So far I have not received any notice. If they notify me, I will attend and explain.
“My principle has always been putting the country’s interest above everything else. We must safeguard the country’s systems, and MCA has its principles and ambitions.”
