KABUL, Feb 25 (Sin Chew Daily) — On behalf of the people of Afghanistan, a government spokesperson expresses his gratitude to Malaysia for the humanitarian mission to deliver relief items to the impoverished people of Afghanistan during the winter by Global Peace Malaysia (GPM), Golden Horse Investment Bank and Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA).
“We are thankful. You have sent high quality and precious relief items to us,” said Abdul Qahar Blkhi, spokesperson for the Afghan Foreign Ministry.
Abdul Qahar Bikhi was receiving the Malaysian delegation who brought close to 5,000 kg of goods to be handed over to four non-governmental organizations and be distributed to the poor during the biting cold winter.
Assisted by the Foreign Ministry of Malaysia, the joint mission by GPM, Golden Horse Investment Bank Bhd and BLIA delivered relief items to Afghanistan for the first time.
The effort made by the joint mission overcoming all hurdles to deliver milk powder, stationery, winter wear and others to the poor moved him, said Abdul Qahar.
“On behalf of the people, I am grateful to the non-governmental organizations in Malaysia. Many bags of goods are unloaded from the aircraft to be distributed to the poor.
“I hope the generous contributions from Malaysia will help the people in this cold winter,” he said.
Venerable Jue Cheng, deputy secretary-general of BLIA in Southeast Asia, said she felt for the poor in Afghanistan.
