BN fined RM10k for SOP violation at KL launch
BN leaders at the launch of BN’s campaign mechanism for Melaka election at PWTC.

PETALING JAYA, Oct 28 (Sin Chew Daily) – Ismail Amsyar Mohd Said, communications director to health minister, said the health ministry had issued a RM10,000 summons to Barisan Nasional not because the party organized its Melaka state election campaign mechanism at PWTC, but because the attendants failed to observe social distancing during the event.

He told Sin Chew Daily that RM10,000 is the heaviest fine for the violation.

“We issued the summons to the organizers not because they organized the event but because they did not comply with the SOPs.”

Ismail Amsyar said except Melaka, social activities could be held in all other states in phase four of the national recovery plan, including launching of election campaign mechanism.

He said the health ministry had earlier announced that all election-related events, gatherings and social dinners, etc. would be banned in Melaka from October 25 to November 27, adding that violators could be fined up to RM50,000 because these activities are banned in the state.
