SIBU, Oct 23 (Sin Chew Daily) — Sibu Hospital has received five sets of bedside monitors worth more than RM40,000 contributed by Yayasan Sin Chew and Buddhist group Fo Guang Shan.
This is the second contribution jointly made by Yayasan Sin Chew and Fo Guang Shan this year, after five sets of Hi Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) were handed over to the hospital on October 9.
Sibu Hospital director Dr T. Nanthakumar received the bedside monitors.
Last year, Yayasan Sin Chew and Fo Guang Shan donated medical equipment in two batches as well as a set of anesthetic machine worth RM240,000.
On May 28, both organizations jointly contributed four sets of HFNC.
Dr Nanthakumar said the hospital just received medical equipment including oxygen concentrator and ventilator from Serdang Hospital.
“The medical equipment are still in good conditions although they are not new,” he said.
The hospital has been facing the issue of insufficient medical equipment to cope with rising number of COVID-19 patients since January.
The hospital thanks the support and contribution from various sectors.
