MELAKA, Oct 1 (Sin Chew Daily) – Sin Chew Daily has been tipped that Melaka’s Umno, Bersatu and independent assemblymen are holding out an olive branch to the state Pakatan Harapan for cooperation.
It has been said that among the state assemblymen proposing a coalition government with PH are Umno’s Sungai Udang assemblyman Datuk Seri Idris Haron and Pantai Kundor assemblyman Nor Azman Hassan, Bersatu’s Telok Mas assemblyman Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad and independent assemblyman Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee (formerly from DAP).
It is learned that Melaka DAP assemblymen were notified by state party leadership yesterday noon to attend a meeting at Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s residence in Kuala Lumpur at 8.30 p.m. last night on PN’s proposal of cooperation.
Also present at the meeting are DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, organizing secretary Anthony Loke and Lim Kit Siang.
In the meeting, some of the DAP assemblymen rejected the cooperation proposal, while the party’s leadership had reservations about the proposal, too.
When contacted by Sin Chew Daily earlier this morning, former Melaka chief minister Idris Haron denied offering to cooperate with PH or meeting Anwar to discuss the formation of a new state government.
Melaka Amanah deputy chairman Datuk Mohd Sofi Abdul Wahab also denied that PH state assemblymen had met Anwar on a change of state government.
