PETALING JAYA, Sep 10 (Sin Chew Daily) — The China Culture Foundation and Yan Ran Foundation have donated a total of 1.34 million pieces of disposable face masks to Tong Shin Hospital in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
On behalf of the two foundations, Li Jing, counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of China in Kuala Lumpur, presented the face masks to Tan Sri Khoo Chai Ka, chairman of Tong Shin Hospital.
Khoo said the hospital currently has sufficient face masks and would be donating the face masks to other charitable organisations and the needy.
As a non-profit oriented hospital, Khoo said the hospital would be supplying face masks to the needy.
The contribution by China Culture Foundation and Yan Ran Foundation have reflected the friendship and support between China and Malaysia in fighting the pandemic together.
He also expressed gratitude to Minister Counselor Zhang Peidong from the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of China for connecting the two foundations to the hospital.
Li Jing said those who received the face masks should continue to abide by the anti-virus measures and hoped the pandemic would be over soon.
Datuk Liu Mei Ying, one of the directors of Tung Shin Hospital sponsored the transportation costs and custom duty for the face masks.
