KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Sin Chew Daily) – Following the resignation of Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said yesterday as Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker, Dewan Rakyat Secretary Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin has urged all Members of Parliament to nominate a candidate for the Deputy Speaker post.

Currently there is still another Deputy Speaker, namely Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s MP for Batu Pahat Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon.

It is learned that Pakatan Harapan is keen on the Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker post and will discuss a candidate soon.

“We have not decided yet. We will have to first discuss to nominate a candidate.”
