PUTRAJAYA, Aug 11 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 20,780 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 15 imported cases.

Selangor reported 6,921 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,065), Johor (1,693), Kedah (1,534), Sabah (1,514), Penang (1,385), Kelantan (1,284), Negeri Sembilan (1,015), Perak (828), Melaka (636), Sarawak (634), Terengganu (613) and Pahang (585).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,320,547 confirmed cases and 1,075,816 recoveries (including 17,973 recovering today) at 81.47% recovery rate.

211 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 11,373.

There are currently 233,358 active cases, including 1,053 at ICUs, 546 requiring ventilators.
