IPOH, Aug 1 (Sin Chew Daily) — There was a light moment at the national vaccination center at Indera Mulia Stadium when the God of Prosperity showed up to get vaccinated.

The staff were stunned but excited to see the arrival of the icon of prosperity, including those who were present to be vaccinated.

It was obvious that no one thought the God of Prosperity was there to be inoculated.

Canning state assemblyman Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, who was present at the vaccination center, was quick to ask the God of Prosperity: "Why are you not distributing red packets?"

Everyone only realized that the God of Prosperity was present to be vaccinated when he handed over the appointment details.

Deng Hao Ci, donned as God of Prosperity, took off the headgear when he needed to answer questions asked by a doctor.

He wanted to remove the headgear again for the vaccination but stopped by medical staff as many were waiting to take a photo with the God of Prosperity.

The God of Prosperity brought cheers to the national vaccination center as many took turns to take pictures with him.

Deng, 25, was given permission by his coach to dress up as the God of Prosperity when he received the appointment for vaccination.

A member of Persatuan Sukan dan Kebudayaan Ma Ching Ipoh (Ipoh Ma Ching Sport and Cultural Association), Deng put on the God of Prosperity attire of a lion dance troupe.

"Everyone seems to be under tremendous pressure. I want to help people relax at the national vaccination center," said Deng. 

They asked whether the God of Prosperity would be giving red packets and whether he needed help to be vaccinated.
