PUTRAJAYA, July 9 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record 9,180 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including seven imported cases.

Selangor reported 4,400 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,271), Negeri Sembilan (899), Kedah (417), Sarawak (406), Sabah (323), Johor (315), Perak (241), Melaka (222), Pahang (214), Kelantan (151) and Penang (142).

To date there are a cumulative total of 817,838 confirmed cases and 731,193 recoveries (including 5,713 discharged today) at 89.41% recovery rate.

77 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 5,980.

There are currently 80,665 active cases, including 959 at ICUs, 465 requiring ventilators.
