PUTRAJAYA, July 1 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 6,988 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including five imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,885 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (988), Negeri Sembilan (692), Sarawak (544), Melaka (311), Johor (270), Kedah (250), Sabah (232), Pahang (195), Penang (174), Perak (149), Labuan (129) and Kelantan (108).

To date there are a cumulative total of 758,967 confirmed cases and 688,260 recoveries (including 5,580 discharged today) at 90.68% recovery rate.

84 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to  5,254.

There are currently 65,453 active cases, including 917 at ICUs, 445 requiring ventilators.
