PUTRAJAYA, June 23 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 5,244 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including seven imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,001 new cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (677), Sarawak (577), Kuala Lumpur (531), Johor (282), Pahang (245), Kedah (189), Melaka (180), Penang (159) and Sabah (129).

To date there are a cumulative total of 711,006 confirmed cases and 645,553 recoveries (including 6,372 discharged today) at 90.80% recovery rate.

83 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 4,637.

There are currently 60,816 active cases, including 879 at ICUs, 433 requiring ventilators.
