
PETALING JAYA, June 3 (Sin Chew Daily) — GoCar Malaysia and Kampung Tunku state assemblywoman Lim Yi Wei are offering senior citizens and the disabled free rides to vaccination centers in Petaling district.
The "GoVax" free ride service covers Shah Alam Hospital, Rakan Medik clinic, Sunway Convention Center, Universiti Malaya and Ideal Convention Center Shah Alam (IDCC) as part of GoCar's corporate social responsibility.
Senior citizens aged 60 and above and the disabled are offered free rides to the vaccination centers.
Since its launch on May 25, close to 100 people have signed up for the GoVax service which is available from now until August 31.
One is required to place a booking three days in advance by contacting the hotline 1-300-3-2633 or through the GoCar app.

The service will be provided on first come first served basis.
The disabled must be accompanied by their caretakers during the trips.
Lim said prior to this, her service center had received plenty of calls requesting help to book a taxi to go for vaccination.
The service is offered to those living in Petaling district, namely Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Puchong and Shah Alam.
"We have achieved the record of sending 19 people to vaccination centers in a day. We do not set a limit at this moment as we try our best to send those who have placed their advance bookings," said Lim.
Lim said her service center also liaised with the vaccination centers to have designated parking for senior citizens and the disabled.
More volunteers are being sought to guide them at the vaccination centers.
